Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment.Studies have shown that practicing mindfulness, even for just a few weeks, can bring a variety of physical, psychological, and social benefits.
Alvina Cassidy has 22 years meditation experience and over 12 years’ experience bringing mindfulness and compassion based training to health, social care, the workplace and the public. She is a trained counsellor and certified teacher of the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy programmes.

There is a regular 6 week course scheduled throughout the year which offers a complete introduction to mindfulness practice and will give you good grounding in the practice with an experiential understanding and confidence in how to apply the methods in your life. Research into mindfulness shows that a regular committed practice can help you to relax, reduce stress, anxiety and worry, enhance your mood and sense of emotional and physical well being, increase immunity, change your relationship to physical pain and improve memory and decision making faculties

Our approach embraces compassion methods and the principles of mindfulness based stress reduction and mindfulness based cognitive therapy to anyone going through life challenges such as dealing with diagnosis and illness, bereavement due to separation or the death of a loved one, stress or chronic pain.
